Messiah College is a private undergraduate Christian college located in Grantham, PA with an enrollment of approximately 2,800 students. Lenhert Building serves as the headquarters for the college’s Department of Facility Services. This department administers facility maintenance, grounds services, fleet services, central receiving and shipping, environmental health safety, fire safety, and waste disposal for the college.
SMB&R provided Messiah College with programming, schematic design services, construction documents, and construction administration services for this project. The project involved the partial demolition and renovation of existing buildings (approximately 9,750 square feet) and the addition of approximately 14,000 square feet of new space. Workspaces incorporated into this comprehensive project include a reception area, administrative offices, vehicle wash and repair bays, a weld shop, offices and work areas for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing trades, carpentry and paint shop, and equipment storage bays.
