Darius S. Bharucha, PE

President, Structural Engineer

Darius Bharucha, PE, serves as president of the firm and is one of the founding partners of SMB&R. He is licensed as a Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania and Maryland.

Darius attended the University of Bombay, where he earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree. Following completion of his undergraduate work, he moved to the United States to pursue a Master of Civil Engineering degree at the University of Wisconsin – Madison.

Darius’s engineering expertise can be applied to a variety of project and construction types. He has been involved with new construction and renovation of commercial and industrial properties and is skilled in providing forensic structural engineering services and design of emergency repairs.

Darius is a member of the American Concrete Institute and American Institute of Steel Construction. He is a Life Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Darius participates in the ACE Mentor Program and serves as a mentor to students pursuing engineering careers in the Harrisburg/Hershey area.

Preston D. Lytle, Jr., PE

Vice-President, Structural Engineer

Pret Lytle is a Professional Engineer licensed in Pennsylvania. Pret focuses on structural engineering solutions for commercial and industrial projects. One of his specialties is the design and engineering of foundations for roller coasters. Analysis of a multitude of forces acting on each support is facilitated by a custom CADD program Pret developed specifically for this application.

Pret serves as treasurer of SMB&R and manages payroll, insurance, and the firm’s computer systems.

A Pittsburgh native, Pret worked his way through college with summer jobs in a steel mill. He graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree.

After graduation, he spent a few years working for the Maryland State Highway Administration before joining Benatec Associates in Camp Hill. He worked with the founding partners of SMB&R at Benatec, and shortly after they started the new company, Pret joined the firm.

He volunteers with the Central Pennsylvania ACE Mentor Program.

Holly Williams Leppo, AIA, LEED AP

Vice-President, Architect & Interior Designer

Holly Williams Leppo is a registered architect in Pennsylvania and Virginia and a certified interior designer in Virginia. She holds professional certifications from the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and the National Council for Interior Design Qualification, and is a LEED Accredited Professional.

Holly leads SMB&R's architectural department. She specializes in adapting old building forms for new uses, including study of applicable building codes, accessibility requirements, appropriate historical forms and proportions, and integration of new technologies, building materials, and techniques into a historic context. She serves as secretary of SMB&R and manages marketing and human resources.

Holly earned her Master of Architecture degree at Washington University in St. Louis after completing a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in integrative arts at The Pennsylvania State University, where she was named to Phi Beta Kappa.

She is the author of seven technical review guides designed to prepare candidates for the Architectural Registration Exam, and a series of texts on the LEED credentialing exams, all published by Professional Publications, Inc.

In 2009, she was recognized by Building Design + Construction’s 40 Under 40, and was named to the Central Penn Business Journal Forty Under 40. Both of Holly's alma maters have recognized her professional achievements in 2010; she is a recipient of the Penn State Alumni Association Alumni Achievement Award representing The Schreyer Honors College and the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University Young Alumni Award for Distinction.

Holly has volunteered with the Hugh O'Brian Youth Foundation and Junior Achievement of Central Pennsylvania. She currently serves as a member of the AIA Central Pennsylvania Board of Directors.
